Born and raised in Japan, Ayami moved to London in 1993. Self-taught, Ayami developed her own style which is edgy and graphic whilst honouring classic beauty. In 1998 she began her career as makeup artist, since then she has been working on high profile editorial and commercial projects, predominately within the fashion & beauty industry.  Her first break came when she started to publish her works on Dazed & Confused magazine.
