AYAMI NISHIMURA is a Japanese born, self-taught makeup artist. She moved to London in the early 90’s, quickly establishing herself in the fashion industry. Relocating to New York in 2013 she continued her creative work on numerous editorials, celebrity appearances and fashion campaigns. In 2012 she gained a contract with MAKE cosmetics as a consultant. Since early 2017 she has been a color director for POLA B.A., launching a makeup collection for this luxury skincare brand. Her acclaimed beauty photo book, Ayami Nishimura by Rankin, was published in 2012 with accompanying exhibitions in Anroy Gallery London, Rankin’s LA Gallery and the Diesel Art Gallery Tokyo. Ayami frequently travels from New York to a variety locations worldwide.
